Kristina Helen Schmidt is a Pittsburgh based professional photographer. Her life-long love of photography has led to a 23  year professional career. After high school Kristina worked for Portraits with Pride as head photographer for dance schools covering a four state territory. From there Kristina focused her career on freelance work and later took a position with Trader Publications as an account executive. Subsequently, Kristina accepted a position as a store manager for Camera Repair Service. She felt like a kid in a candy store getting to examine a wide range of equipment and enhancing her knowledge of the mechanical world behind photography. Currently Kristina couldn’t be happier working in the architectural field doing what she loves. Born and raised in the ‘Steel City’ her first memories are being in front of the camera for her father who was a professional photographer. For the last 12 years architecture has become the focus of her photography career. Kristina takes great joy in exploring the perspectives of the built environment. Capturing the architect’s or builder’s original vision has been one of many professional triumphs.  Kristina has found personal passions intertwining with professional pursuits, inspiring energized and insightful advances with her photography.  If a camera is not in her hand you can find Kristina taking advantage of ‘city living’, hiking with her family, searching for the perfect recipe or coming up with her own.
